STRINGS LAYOUT ON WHOLE-TONE CHROMATIC LYRES
Photos of the isomorphic layout of strings on lyres with whole-tone chromatic tuning:
There are two rows of strings tuned to two whole-tone scales, a semitone apart. All C-strings are red and F-strings are green (blue, black). The upper row (generally played by the right hand) is: C - D - E - F# - G# - A# - C etc. The lower row (played by left hand) is: C# - D# - F - G - A - B - C# etc.
